Hiram's Blind Date
I believe this happened in 1975 or 1976. While a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity @ Morehead State, I received a phone call one evening from my buddy, Hiram. He was a Lambda Chi but we were still close friends. Hiram wanted to know if I had the key to our fraternity house so he could take his blind date out and listen to some music and play the pinball machines. I told him that I would have to go also since nobody was living in the house at this time and he wasn't a member. He said that was fine and he would pick me up. Hiram pulled up to my trailer with his cov top down on his blue VW. He asked me to drive so that he could sit in the back with his blind date.
Thus, the adventure begins....
I parked in front of Mignon Tower as Hiram sauntered inside to call his date. I was talking to a frat brother on the driver's side and didn't notice Hiram until he opened the door. He proceeded to shove the passenger seat up as far as it would go. I was still talking when I felt the back of the car hit bottom. This girl, Jody took up the whole back seat and I am sure exceeded the weight limit for Hiram's car. I looked in the rear view mirror and could only see about half of her head. Hiram squeezed into the front seat and introduced me. It was the fall of the year so we all had on light jackets with the top down.
To my utter amazement, after about 30 minutes, Hiram and Jody retired to one of the master chambers. About 15 minutes after this Bill Redwine pulls up the driveway with about 3 of our fraternity Little Sisters. They had come out to drink a few beers and listen to some music. As they went into the living room one of the girls picked up a jacket that looked like Omar the Tentmaker must have produced. To make matters worse, she reached into the pocket and pulled out something. A picture ID!!!! She said do you have this girl upstairs? Of course, at this point I had to rat Hiram out. They all ran upstairs and caught Hiram in an unflattering situation.
